A damaged wheel, handle or lock does not always mean that you need to replace your entire suitcase. Depending on the model and availability, Easy Luggage may be able to supply a compatible replacement part.

This guide explains how common suitcase parts are replaced and what information our customer service team needs to identify the correct part.

Information Needed to Identify Your Part

Before contacting us, please prepare the following information so our team can check compatibility more efficiently.

  • Your Easy Luggage order number, when available
  • The brand and model number of the suitcase
  • The suitcase size and colour
  • A clear photograph of the complete suitcase
  • Close-up photographs of the damaged part
  • A photograph of the opposite working wheel or handle, if relevant

Common Suitcase Repairs

These general instructions are suitable for many suitcase designs. Internal fittings and fixing methods may differ between models.

How to Replace a Suitcase Wheel

Approx. 10 minutes Cross-head screwdriver
  1. Open the suitcase and carefully unzip the internal lining.
  2. Locate the wheel housing and remove any cover over the screws.
  3. Support the wheel from the outside while removing the screws.
  4. Remove the damaged wheel assembly.
  5. Position the compatible replacement wheel and reinstall the screws.
  6. Check that the wheel rotates and swivels correctly before use.

How to Replace a Telescopic Handle

Approx. 15 minutes Cross-head screwdriver
  1. Open the suitcase and unzip the internal lining.
  2. Locate the upper and lower handle fixing points.
  3. Remove the screws securing the telescopic handle assembly.
  4. Carefully slide the damaged handle out of the suitcase.
  5. Insert the compatible replacement assembly.
  6. Secure all fixing points and test the handle several times.

How to Replace a TSA Lock

Approx. 10 minutes Cross-head screwdriver
  1. Open the suitcase and move the internal lining away from the lock.
  2. Locate and remove the screws holding the lock in position.
  3. Carefully remove the existing lock without damaging the zip pulls.
  4. Position the compatible replacement lock.
  5. Reinstall and tighten the screws without overtightening them.
  6. Test the lock and set the combination before travelling.

How to Replace a Top or Side Handle

Approx. 10 minutes Cross-head screwdriver
  1. Open the suitcase and unzip the internal lining.
  2. Locate the fixing points for the damaged handle.
  3. Support the handle from the outside while removing the screws.
  4. Remove the damaged handle and position the replacement.
  5. Reinstall the screws and check that the handle is secure.

How to Replace a Zip Pull

Approx. 10 minutes Screwdriver and long-nose pliers
  1. Inspect the zip slider to confirm that only the pull is damaged.
  2. Gently open the attachment loop using a small screwdriver.
  3. Insert the compatible replacement zip pull.
  4. Close the loop carefully using long-nose pliers.
  5. Test the zip without applying excessive force.

How to Replace a Logo Plate

Approx. 10 minutes Flat-head screwdriver
  1. Open the internal lining behind the logo plate when accessible.
  2. Remove any protective sticker covering the fixing pins.
  3. Carefully release and remove the damaged logo plate.
  4. Position the compatible replacement plate.
  5. Secure the fixing pins and replace the protective covering.
